What TPH St. Louis Is — and Is Not
Not every environment is built for every student. Clarity matters.
WE ARE
A Full-Day Academy
Academics, on-ice training, gym training, mentorship, and life skills — all in a school day's work, under one roof, 8:00 AM to 3:20 PM.
WE ARE NOT
A Team or Club
TPH St. Louis is not a team and is not connected to any specific club — we proudly serve students from clubs all across St. Louis. Here, students train in their own bubble: pressure-free ice time to work on their individual game without feeling evaluated or judged.
WE ARE NOT
A Boarding School
We do not offer boarding or billeting. Our student-athletes live at home with their families in the greater St. Louis area.
WE ARE NOT
A Drop-In Program
No à la carte options, no pick-and-choose days. Development happens daily — students are either all in, or not in.
Our Three Pillars
Development in this order — and the order is intentional.
PILLAR 1
Person
Character, work ethic, daily habits, life skills, and being a positive contributor to culture. The most important outcome of the academy.
PILLAR 2
Student
Effort, time management, priorities, and daily academic eligibility. Academics are three structured, prioritized hours of every day — not an add-on.
PILLAR 3
Athlete
Person and academics come first — students must be eligible to train each day. Then: purposeful on-ice development, strength and conditioning, and every rep matters.
The Centene Community Ice Center is the only facility in the world home to an NHL practice facility, NCAA Division I men's and women's hockey, Tier I AAA boys and girls hockey, NHL alumni, and a sports academy. Our students cross paths with NHL players, D1 student-athletes, and hockey professionals as part of their normal day. And it's our home through 2032 — lease extended, footprint expanding.
Academic Wings
Five dedicated academic rooms plus specialized learning rooms, a student collaboration room, and private study rooms.
Training
16 hours of weekly NHL-caliber ice on Plager Rink — about 4 per student — plus a shooting room, outdoor turf, and the Performance Training Center. Pickleball and ping pong on the patio; physical therapy next door.
Health & Safety
Mercy physical therapy right next door, and a staff team trained across CPR/First Aid, SafeSport, concussion protocols, and ALICE — with background screening and emergency plans in place. Our first priority →
A dedicated girls development program inside the academy day — in the only building in the world with Tier I AAA girls hockey and NCAA D1 women's hockey under the same roof. Our girls have advanced to NCAA and collegiate hockey.
From a founding class of thirty — grown year by year through the trust of St. Louis families.
2020 — YEAR ONE
The Founding Class
30 student-athletes, 2 training groups, 2 classrooms, 3 full-time staff — and a conviction that the environment is the difference.
2020 – 2026
Earned Growth
Full capacity every single year. NCAA commitments, USHL draft picks, and a 3.87 cumulative GPA — growth by results, not by advertising.
2026 — YEAR SEVEN
The Academy Today
95+ student-athletes, a complete academic, hockey, and performance staff, and 200+ paid applications for this year's places — we're grateful for the trust. 2027–28: expanding to 110 across four training groups.
A student-athlete's day here is powered by an ecosystem few programs anywhere can match.
The TPH St. Louis Principle
It is a privilege to be here, not a right. Be GRATEFUL, THANKFUL, and HUMBLE.
Treat your classmates, staff, rink employees, and volunteers with RESPECT.
Be yourself, BELIEVE in yourself, strive to IMPROVE yourself.
CONSISTENCY, PREPARATION, and HARD WORK — on the ice, in the gym, in the classroom.
Hard work works. DREAM big, but dreams without goals are just dreams.
Set GOALS, and work towards them. Make the most of the opportunity you have been given,
and strive for EXCELLENCE.
EST. 2020
Who Your Child Becomes
Athletic advancement is an outcome, not the objective. Parents aren't choosing a schedule — they're choosing who their child is at eighteen.
THE STUDENT
More Confident in the Classroom
Students who own their pacing, email their teachers directly, and advocate for themselves — the habits behind a 3.87 average GPA and 87% on the honor roll.
THE ATHLETE
More Disciplined in Their Craft
Daily standards, every-rep-matters training, and eligibility earned each morning — the culture behind alumni advancing to the USHL, OHL, WHL, and NCAA hockey.
THE PERSON
More Prepared for What's Next
Leadership boards, 500+ hours of community service, mentorship of younger students, and years of practiced self-management — a young adult ready for life after hockey, too.
THE COMMUNITY
Part of Something Bigger
$500K+ raised in two years for scholarship student-athletes, 15+ guest speakers a year — NHL players, Olympians, executives — and two semester development reviews per student, every year.
In Our Families' Words
From the people who know the academy best.
PARENT
“Year two at Total Package Hockey and I honestly didn't think anything could make it better for him… BUT… his best friend attending school with him and getting to show him all the things he told him about last year made it just that much more exciting! He loved going to school last year… this year is going to be even better!!”

“Enrolling in TPH this year was the best decision we made for our son's hockey development. The difference in his personal growth in the past few months has been remarkable and we can't wait to watch him continue to grow. The dedication to mentorship and the direct communication with the TPH staff has been far superior in every aspect.”

“Brandon has become a more confident and stronger player due to TPH. Transferring from a town with its own elite hockey school and program, TPH offered him the ability to continue his personal development at a high level.”
