Attendance

For a midweek change outside your weekly Sunday attendance, or to reach staff during the school day — the attendance lines below go to every on-site, full-time staff member at the respective academy.

HOCKEY FAMILIES

Hockey Attendance Line

Absence, late arrival, or early pickup — one email reaches every full-time staff member at the Hockey Academy.

SOCCER FAMILIES

Soccer Attendance Line

Absence, late arrival, or early pickup — one email reaches every full-time staff member at the Soccer Academy.

TPHSTLSOCCER@tphacademy.com
HOCKEY GOALIE FAMILIES

Goalie Attendance Line

Hockey goalie families use the dedicated goalie line so RGA goalie days are planned around who's on the ice.

TPHSTLGOALIE@tphacademy.com

Notice should be given in writing and in advance. If a student isn't present 30 minutes into the school day and no notice has been received, a staff member will call. Student drivers stuck in traffic or weather may call instead — never text or email while driving. Pickup is at 3:30 PM for hockey and 3:10 PM for soccer; TPH St. Louis is not responsible for student-athletes remaining at the facility after dismissal. School closures are announced to all families by email.

What These Events Are

Click any underlined event in the calendars above — or tap an item below — for what families need to know.

Big Brother / Big Sister Days

Seven times a year at both academies, older student-athletes are paired with younger students for a planned mentorship activity during the school day. Pairings are set by staff and refreshed through the year, and the activities are led by our Player Development staff with academic staff assisting. It's one of the biggest culture-builders we have — younger students gain a role model in the building, and our upperclassmen learn to lead.

Student Leadership Board Meetings

Six morning meetings a year at each academy with a group of selected upperclassmen — chosen by the director and staff as leaders of the academy. The discussion is student-led: what's going well and what could be better in every area of the academy (classroom, gym, ice or field), plus ideas for upcoming academy activities. Staff take notes and share them with the full staff afterward. The board is selected by the full staff after the start of the academy year.

Barbershop Days

A licensed beautician — a TPH St. Louis academy parent — comes on site to cut hair for students who sign up. A sign-up link is emailed to families about a week before each visit, and payment is handled directly through the sign-up. Haircuts happen during an academic block, so students are never pulled from training.

Mindful Monday Wellness Checks

A monthly check-in during morning meeting. Each student privately completes a short written wellness check, which staff review. If anything stands out, a staff member who has a close relationship with that student follows up one-on-one. It's a simple, consistent way we keep eyes on how every student is actually doing — not just how they're performing.

Cooking Classes

Hands-on cooking classes with a professional chef — part of our life-skills programming. This year's class: sushi with Chef Eric, at each academy on its own date.

Boxing Days with Glove Up (Hockey)

Twice a year, gym training is replaced by a boxing session led by the team at Glove Up STL — hand-eye coordination, footwork, conditioning, and a whole lot of fun. Students train in their athletic clothing. This year's dates: October 20, 2026 and April 6, 2027.

Career Day

For high school students — professionals from a range of fields visit the academy to talk about their careers, their paths, and life after sport. Part of preparing our student-athletes for everything that comes next.

Photo Day

Individual and academy photos. Students should arrive in dress code.

End of Year Games

A season-closing celebration during the final week. Hockey plays its end-of-year game with a breakfast for the academy; soccer closes with end-of-year games at the Soccer Park.

Annual Senior Lunch (Hockey)

A send-off tradition during the final week — celebrating our graduating seniors before graduation.

Field Day

The last full celebration of the year — catered BBQ and team games for the whole academy.

Staff Directory

Staff respond to family communication Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Mark anything time-sensitive as such and we'll get to it as fast as we can.

Daily Essentials

What every student brings, every day.

CLASSROOM

School Bag — Label Everything

Students should arrive every day with: a computer/laptop (with webcam) and charging cordheadphones with microphone capability — needed for virtual calls, live lessons, tutoring, or listening to music • their student email address • notebooks and folders for each subject • pens and pencils • a calculator • lunch/snack if bringing from home • drinks and a water bottle.

TRAINING

Training Gear

Hockey: full gear plus dress code clothes to change into. Soccer: training kit, cleats, and shin guards plus dress code clothes. Water bottle and shaker bottle with your student's name — plus their own protein or recovery snacks for after training.

SOCCER • FOOTWEAR

Turf Shoes for Training

Daily training is on synthetic turf — hard-soled FG cleats cause stud pressure (heel pain, Sever's flare-ups) and strain developing knees and ankles. We highly recommend a dedicated turf (TF) shoe for training: no stud pressure, real shock absorption, and safer traction (about $60–$85 — look for “Academy” versions with cushioned midsoles). Game cleats stay whatever suits the match surface. Already have heel soreness? Gel heel cups or cleat-specific insoles help immediately.

PHONES & KEYS

Cell Phone Policy — Both Academies

Cell phones and keys are placed in the student-athlete's designated compartment before the morning bell (no driving until departure), and cell phone use is not permitted during school hours — never in locker rooms or training areas.

Need your student during the day? Email them or contact a TPH staff member. Attendance or time-sensitive updates for the full staff: HockeyTPHSTLHockey@TPHAcademy.comSoccerTPHSTLSoccer@TPHAcademy.com.

Academics — What to Expect

EVERY 3 WEEKS

Progress Updates

An academic update on your student, emailed by our academics staff every three weeks — plus final report cards at the end of each semester.

TWICE A YEAR

Parent Conferences

Fall conferences October 26–30 and spring conferences March 8–12, scheduled with the academics team.

THE STANDARD

Pacing Comes First

Students more than 8 assignments behind meet with academics staff and get a plan. If it doesn't improve, training pauses until schoolwork is back on track — parents are notified first.

ON FILE

Family Forms

Kept on file for every student as applicable: Student-Driver Permission, Carpool Form, Medical Info Form, Mercy waiver, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Fact Sheet. Student drivers check in car keys each morning and stay on campus until dismissal.

Who to Contact
