Admissions

Admission into TPH St. Louis is selective and not guaranteed. Each applicant is evaluated to ensure they're the right fit for the expectations, structure, and standards of our program.

Before you apply, know our model: a full-day academy, not a team, not a boarding school — students live at home and stay with their own clubs. The full picture is on our home page →  Comparing paths? See the academy side-by-side with every other option →

How Admissions Works

Enrollment into TPH St. Louis is intentionally structured and selective for the 2027–2028 academic year, and enrollment opportunities are limited. Enrollment for 2027–28 closes April 1, 2027. Clear steps — no black box.

Step 1 — Explore the Academy

Get to know the model: Academics, Hockey Development, Tuition, the FAQ — or every number on one page in Fast Facts. Then choose whichever path below fits your family.

Step 2 — Choose Your Path

OPTION 1

OPTION 2

Apply & Schedule a Shadow Day

Ready to move? Complete the 2027–28 application ($99), then schedule your student's Shadow Day online — a full academy day on campus while we evaluate overall fit together.

Step 3 — Acceptance

Admissions decisions are based on overall fit — academically, athletically, socially, and culturally. Accepted families complete enrollment, finalize tuition and scheduling, and prepare for the academy year.

We are looking for student-athletes who truly want to be here, value the opportunity, and positively contribute to the academy culture.

Who Thrives Here

The academy is not the right fit for every child — and we say so openly. It is built for a specific kind of student-athlete.

PASSION

Kids Who Can't Get Enough

The students who thrive here are shooting pucks in the driveway, playing mini sticks in the basement, and asking for more ice — not less. For them, burnout isn't possible. If that love isn't there yet, the academy may not be the right fit.

DRIVE

Self-Starters

Students who are — for their age — self-driven, motivated, and dedicated to getting better. Surrounded daily by like-minded peers with similar goals, dreams, and passions, they push each other and have fun doing it.

STANDARDS

Students Who Earn the Ice

Every student must meet their academic standard daily to be eligible to train. For our students, that opportunity means so much that staying eligible becomes its own motivation.

Shadow Days

Experience a full academy day — academics, training, and all. Shadow Days for 2027–28 admission are held September through December 2026, Monday through Thursday, on days school is in session. A completed application is required before scheduling.

What Families Gain Every Day

Hear directly from TPH St. Louis parents.

Holistic Mentorship

Development in athletics, academics, and character — with staff who genuinely care and communicate openly with families.

The Right Peer Group

A community of driven, motivated students with shared goals and passions. Iron sharpens iron.

Training Within School Hours

Individualized on-ice and off-ice training during the day gives athletes more free time to relax, play other sports, and recover — reducing the need for extra private lessons.

Academic Flexibility

A blended academic model built for busy hockey schedules, with on-demand tutors and full parent visibility into pacing and grades.

STUDENT-ATHLETE

“Coach FA's Mentorship Program has helped me increase my confidence and also how to work harder on and off the ice. Coach FA talks about the importance of getting in the right mindset before games and staying in that mindset during games which has impacted me as a player. I strive every day to be a better student, athlete, and person.”

PARENT

“Our son has progressed from A1 to AA and will now be playing AAA this next season! He's motivated to elevate his game and being surrounded by other athletes and dedicated coaches and mentors has pushed him to work hard. We also value the way the teachers, coaches and mentors encourage personal growth.”
