THE MODEL

Is TPH St. Louis a team or connected to a specific club?

Do you offer training only, studying only, or à la carte options?

No. TPH St. Louis does not offer training-only or academics-only options. Exceptions may apply for alumni who advance to junior hockey while still in high school.

We believe you are either all in or not in. Development is not something you visit — it is something you commit to.

Do you offer boarding or billeting?

No. TPH St. Louis does not provide boarding or billeting opportunities.

How flexible is attendance?

The Academy is designed for families who value structure, routine, consistency, and accountability. When students are healthy and in town, they are expected to be on campus, on time, and fully engaged throughout the entire academic day.

The students who experience the greatest growth are often the students who spend the most time on site and take advantage of every opportunity available to them.

ACADEMICS

Are there human teachers?

Yes. TPH St. Louis students have multiple layers of academic support, including:

  • Executive Director of Academics (on site)
  • Head of Academics (on site)
  • Academic Success Coaches (on site)
  • EYC Teachers (located at EYC)
  • Specialists and Tutors (on site)
Is TPH St. Louis an accredited school?

No. TPH St. Louis is not an accredited school. Students are enrolled either through their Missouri public school district as a full-time virtual student, or through our private school partner, EYC Academy.

Regardless of enrollment pathway, students receive the same academic support, same platform, same resources, and same day-to-day experience. The difference is simply where credits, transcripts, and diplomas are issued from.

What are the academic enrollment options?

Option 1: Remain enrolled in your Missouri public school district through the Missouri Course Access Program.

Option 2: Enroll through our private school partner, EYC Academy.

What academic platform do students utilize?

All students, regardless of enrollment pathway, utilize the Edmentum platform. Edmentum is NCAA approved, Missouri approved, asynchronous, flexible, and provides students with multiple learning tools and resources.

Are there academic accountability & eligibility requirements?

Yes. Students must remain academically eligible in order to participate in daily on-ice and off-ice training. Eligibility is reviewed daily by the academic staff. Academic staff monitor student pacing, grades, effort, engagement, and overall progress.

Students who become academically ineligible receive additional academic support blocks in place of training sessions until they are back on track and demonstrating the habits necessary for success.

What is the academic staff-to-student ratio?

Approximately 1:15. Maintaining a strong staff-to-student ratio allows us to provide individualized support and attention to students on a daily basis.

HOCKEY & FACILITY

What is the hockey staff-to-student ratio?

Approximately 1:10 or better. This includes hockey development coaches, goalie coaches, mentors, and strength and conditioning staff.
