Experience the academy firsthand — a complete day as a TPH St. Louis student-athlete. Academics, training, ice, lunch among our students, and substantive conversations with our staff.

How to Schedule a Shadow Day

Shadow Days for 2027–28 admission are held September through November, on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.

  1. Complete the Application

    The $99 TPH St. Louis Academy application is required prior to scheduling a Shadow Day on site. Complete the 2027–28 application here.

  2. Pick Your Day Online

    Once the application is complete, schedule your Shadow Day online in under two minutes — choose any open school day on the calendar, and your confirmation arrives instantly. Prefer to talk it through? Email PMcRae@TPHAcademy.com anytime.

  3. Experience the Full Day

    8:00 AM to 3:30 PM — your student lives a complete academy day alongside our current student-athletes, with staff checking in throughout.

The Shadow Day Schedule

Before 8:00 AMArrive at the front entrance of Centene (most students arrive 7:50–8:00). A staff member meets you, and a student host shows your player to the TPH locker room and Room 1
8:10 AMMorning meeting — all students seated in Classroom 1, phones in their designated slots when the bell rings
8:20 AMAcademic Block 1 — work with a current student on the Edmentum platform to get familiar with the academic side of TPH
9:30 AMOff-ice training
11:00 AMOn-ice training, then shower (optional) and change

A one-on-one meeting with a staff member about your student's goals and why TPH may be a fit • hands-on time with the Edmentum platform alongside a current student • time with our Head of Academics on the academic commitment and expectations • full participation in training and academics • every chance to ask questions.

What to Bring

Lunch, snack, and water bottle or drinks • hockey gear • any schoolwork to complete during academic blocks (or a book) • laptop or tablet.

Who It's For

Prospective student-athletes, grades 4–12, whose families have completed the application. It's the single best way to know whether TPH St. Louis is the right fit — in both directions.
